More Info

I grew up in beautiful Upstate New York as the seventh of eight children in a bustling Irish-American family. I’ve also lived in Westchester County NY, Fairfield County CT, Cardiff (Wales), and Surrey (England). Our family relocated to The Woodlands in the summer of 2013 and we have truly adopted Texas as our home, although we now spend our summers in the mountains of Estes Park, Colorado. My husband of 35 years is a Professional (Civil) Engineer and our two children are graduates of Texas A&M University and are Construction Management professionals. We are all dual American-British citizens. 🇺🇸🇬🇧

I have a Catholic Christian background, however I welcome clients with diverse religious and spiritual belief systems, and I incorporate those into counseling (or not) as they wish.

Before I became a counselor, I worked for four training development companies that designed training programs in interpersonal skills, customer service, sales, management, and leadership skills. I was fortunate to work for a prominent industrial/organizational psychologist – a pioneer of behavior modeling applications – who inspired and encouraged me (with other colleagues along the way) to pursue a helping profession.

While living overseas, I served as the president of a large expatriate women's organization, the American Women of Surrey, and I was a stay-at-home mother with my two young children in the U.K. for a decade. Back in the U.S., I served on the Operating Committee for The Woodlands British Ladies Club for several years.

I am passionate about being involved in my community. I am currently on the Board of Directors for Mosaics of Mercy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Magnolia, Texas, serving five counties locally. Mosaics assists individuals and families in connecting to the mental health resources they need, and all of Mosaics' services are provided at no charge.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with my Boxer dog, cooking, traveling, hiking, listening to many different genres of music, and volunteering for worthy causes including juvenile diabetes and the Catholic Chaplain Corps, where I'm a Pastoral Visitor at a local hospital. I help lead The Woodlands Mental Health Professionals group, a special community of 250 licensed mental health providers.
