ABOUT ME
Bridget K. Caletka LPC-S LMHC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in Texas and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York, with 12+ years of direct counseling experience within academic, agency, and outpatient mental health settings.
I work with adults of diverse sociocultural backgrounds with a wide range of presenting issues. I collaborate with clients to develop new coping skills and to maximize the resources and resilience they already possess. I assist individuals struggling with anxiety, depression and mood disorders, traumas, and other personal, social, and mental health issues.
A particular focus of my practice is journeying with grieving clients, and I am a Certified Compassionate Bereavement Care Provider® – a training I sought because unfortunately there are few clinicians truly competent in guiding clients through the "dark abyss of traumatic grief." I also help clients with end of life issues and those coping with serious or chronic illnesses. I provide crisis intervention for individuals and organizations in the aftermath of tragedies, such as the sudden death of an employee or a loved one.
I am experienced with Third Culture Kids (TCKs), defined as individuals who have spent a significant part of the developmental years in a culture other than that of their parents, and therefore have developed a unique sense of relationship to both.
I offer nonclinical services including life coaching and crisis response, which you can read more about on this site. I am able to provide psychoeducation and motivational speaking on various current mental health topics.
I received my Bachelors degree summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut in 1997, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in School Counseling from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2010, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (C.A.G.S.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah College in 2011. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas (LPC-S license #70914), a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York (LMHC license #009665), a National Certified Counselor (NCC #274857) and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) and Board Certified Coach (BCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and also the EMDR DeTUR protocol, an urge reduction protocol to treat all kinds of addictions and dysfunctional behaviors.
